Along a back road in central New Mexico, I came upon a side dirt road which took me to a tiny, weathered, old village. Just on the outskirts of this village there was this TEXACO gas sign and pump with prices around 23 cents a gallon of gas. Going into town, and speaking with an old resident, I was told that this town had once been on the main road through central new Mexico, but then a by-pass road was built, skirting this town. In no time the town went to ruins, as well as any business's in town. This TEXACO pump was at one time, the main gas filling station for the area, but even it, in time, weathered away.
